*October is Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month*
Forever in Our Hearts is privileged to host the 3rd annual Steps of Love Pregnancy & Infant Loss Memorial Event on Sept 28th!
Have you yourself, a friend, family member, and/or coworker experienced pregnancy & infant loss? This event is to help raise awareness to all stages of infant loss (miscarriage through early child loss) along with creating a supportive community for those who are on this grief journey. We invite you to join us by attending in person or virtually. All proceeds of this event will help further the mission of Forever in Our Hearts as we work to assist pregnancy & infant loss families and the loss community.
Virtual Options (any time / any place - Saturday, September 28th thru Sunday, September 29th):
-5K Run
-1 Mile Walk
In Person Options (Saturday, September 28th):
-5K Run
-Kids Fun Run (kids 12 and under - 1/8th of a mile grass run)
-1 Mile Walk
Location: Taha-Zouka Park - Softball Complex (S 5th St & McKinley Ave)
Schedule:
Food Trucks / Live Music / Activities
1:00 pm - Registration
1:30 pm - Welcome/Announcement of Largest Team
1:30 pm - 5K Run
2:15 pm - Kids Fun Run
2:30 pm - 1 Mile Walk
Start & Finish / Route / Parking:
The race will start and finish at the same spot. Enjoy the scenic view of the route in one big loop along the Cowboy Trail.
Parking will be marked.
Public restrooms will be open for use.
Weather & Climate:
Dress appropriately for the weather. Picnic tables will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own lawn chairs.
Registration:
More than one person can be registered at a time for ease of use.
*NOTE: Sunday, 9/8/24 is the cutoff date to register and receive a event shirt with registration & the opportunity for loss parents to purchase a memorial kit.*
*NOTE: Signing up for the 5K Run (in person) allows you to also join the 1 Mile Walk with your family, friends, team, etc. if you would like to spend that time together. Only 1 registration is required.
Teams:
Form a team in memory of your child with family and friends, business/co-worker teams, dept teams (ex: L&D Dept)...the largest team will be awarded a prize.
*NOTE: One person must create the team name in run signup and all other registrants will need to select that team when registering.*
Memorial Kit:
If you are a pregnancy and infant loss parent you can register for a memorial kit in memory of your sweet baby. A yard sign customized with your baby(s) name will be placed along the route that you can take home with you at the end of the event. Your baby(s) name will be included on the event banner with all the other baby(s) names who a memorial kit was purchased for.
Virtual Participants will also have the option to purchase a Memorial Kit.
*NOTE: if you have a picture of your sweet baby that you would like to add to your yard sign (ex: sonogram) - email the picture to admin@foreverinourheartsne.org
Local Pickup:
This year we are offering local pickup of shirts for virtual participants that are unable to attend the in person event. Pickup time and location will be sent to those participants.
