Holiday Dash 5K

presented by Martin's Point Health Care

On Sunday, December 8th, join us for Portland Trails' biggest fundraising event of the year, the Holiday Dash 5K! This silly and chilly race along the Eastern Prom Trail is sure to warm your spirits. Plus, you'll feel good knowing that you're raising critical funds to support 80 miles of trails in Portland – trails that connect neighborhoods and offer free access to nature for everyone.

Race details:

Sunday, Dec. 8th:

This race is rain, snow, sleet, or shine – so dress for the weather! We welcome your best winter-themed costume, but if you'd prefer not to dress up, you'll be right at home in traditional running clothes. All ages are welcome. Note: Strollers and dogs are NOT allowed on the race course.

We'll have hot cocoa waiting for you after you cross the finish line, but if you'd like something heartier, you can join us for a post-race brunch at Rì Rà! For $15, you'll get a buffet-style brunch and a drink ticket. (Brunch is only available for 150 race participants, so sign up today!)

The first 50 people who register will receive a FREE Holiday Dash travel mug! All other registrants can purchase a mug for $10. Photo of the mug to come.

Fundraising:

The Holiday Dash 5K is Portland Trails' largest fundraising event of the year! All proceeds from this race will support critical maintenance and upgrades for trails throughout Greater Portland. Will you help us reach our $5,000 fundraising goal? Here are two ways you can help:

Start a fundraiser for Portland Trails: It's easy to do when you register! You'll have your own donation page, a special link you can share with friends and family, and a template for social media posts and emails. Running with a group? You can start a team fundraiser and raise money together!

The top three individual and team fundraisers will win awesome prizes that we'll be announcing soon!

Donate to Portland Trails: You'll have the opportunity to make a donation when you register. Any amount you choose to give will be invested back in the trail network you love.

Accessibility information:

Racers who use wheelchairs are welcome to participate! The race takes place entirely on the Eastern Prom Trail, which is wide and paved. The trail conditions are weather-dependent and vary from year to year, but it tends to be slippery where the trail crosses train tracks. Please note that there is a hill on the section of trail near the water treatment facility. If you have any questions about accessibility or would like photos of the race course, please reach out to bailey@trails.org.

Payment assistance:

Northeast Runners Alliance (NeRA) is a non-profit alliance in the running space, actively working to encourage diversity in the northeast running and trail running community. NeRA believes that racial equity in the running space is imperative and recognizes that the lack of diverse representation, as well as the high expense associated with running shoes, gear, and race entry fees, can be major contributors to the lack of participation in the sport.

Through their Shared Miles program, NeRA will pay for race entries for immigrant, BIPOC, and low-income runners. Click here to apply.
