Join your friends and neighbors for the 17th Annual Laurel Park Turkey Day 5k/Fun Run! This non-competitive charity event is open to everyone. Strollers and leashed dogs are welcome.

 

Charities

This year's main charity is the Church of God Children's Home of North Carolina, a local residential group home that provides a positive and safe living environment for children who have experienced neglect, abuse, or dangerous lifestyles. We'll be supporting their goal to refloor the 5,100 square foot boys' cottage.

We'll also make a financial contribution to Faith Hope & Love Animal Rescue whose mission is to save one life at a time - rescuing unwanted dogs in kill shelters and in the community - finding forever loving adoptive homes for all.

Additionally, we'll be collecting non-perishable items for the Second Harvest Backpack Program at Weddington Hills Elementary School. This program provides a backpack full of nutritious, ready to eat or easy to prepare foods that is sent home on weekends and holidays when school meals are not available. Suggested items: 

• Rice, pastas and sauces
• Cereals
• Canned fruits and vegetables
• Canned proteins (chicken, tuna, salmon)
• Peanut better and jelly
• Crackers
• Canned soup
• Dried beans
• Pancake/waffle mix and syrup
• Pre-packaged snacks

Adults 13 and up: $30

Children 12 and under: $20

Shirt Only: $20

*Entry fees increase by $5.00 after November 12. 

 

Register by Nov 12 to be guaranteed a shirt. Limited shirts available while supplies last. 

 

In-Person Registration and Packet Pickup

Online registration closes Nov 24. 

In-person registration and packet pickup will be Nov 26 from 5:00 - 6:30 PM and Nov 27 from 7:30 - 8:15 AM at the Laurel Park clubhouse. 

 

Race Details

Toddler Trot starts at 8:15 AM. No registration required. Use the Shirt Only event to purchase a shirt.    

1 Mile Fun Run starts at 8:30 AM. 

5K Run/Walk starts at 9:00 AM.

All races start and finish by the tennis courts on Georgetown Dr. Course Map

 

Cancellation Statement

There are NO refunds of registration fees. This event will occur rain or shine, warm or cold. We reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances. In that event, there will be no refunds, rather, your entry fee will be used as a charitable donation. You will also be able to pick up your race packets.
