Event Details
Join Club Seattle Runner's Division (CSRD) and Seattle Green Lake Running Group (SGLRG) for the 2nd annual All City Mile on Sunday, June 12 at the Rainier Beach High School Track. Make it your fastest mile or your funnest or both - you decide! We just hope that you'll join us.
This year, both groups are hosting an 8-week better your mile program leading up to the All City Mile (more details below). If you can't join us in person on June 12, we invite you to log your mile virtually. In person registration is $20 and the virtual registration is $10 with all proceeds going to Girls on the Run Puget Sound.
For the in person mile, participants will be put into heats based on their goal mile time and each heat will be led in a warm up run with dynamic drills before toeing the line. We are excited to announce that there will be official chip timing this year.
Just like last year, we're excited to also highlight some of our local businesses who will be serving beverages and treats at the track.
8-Week Training Program
Join CSRD and SGLRG for an 8-week training program focused on helping you improve your mile time. These programs are for all levels.
Both groups are co-hosting a kick off time trial event on Sunday, April 10 at the Roosevelt High School track where you can record your baseline mile time before the 8-week program. There will be two more in person opportunities to clock your mile time trial:
Even if you can't make one of those dates you can clock your own time trial anytime between Sunday, April 10 and Sunday, April 17. We'll put in work together over the course of 8 weeks and then celebrate all of our training on June 12 for another timed mile where we'll track our improvements!
CSRD and SGLRG will be hosting in person speed workouts each week aimed to help you improve your mile time. When you complete your registration, you'll have the opportunity to indicate if you'd like more information on the training programs which will begin on Monday, April 18. Also stay tuned for some joint CSRD and SGLRG events before the All City Mile!
If you'd like to join one of the groups for the 8-week program, participation in every workout is not required, although we assure you you'll have a lot of fun and build community! Each week you'll receive information on the runs for the upcoming week.
We're excited to be supporting Girls on the Run Puget Sound with this event!
Girls on the Run Puget Sound is an evidence-based, physical activity-based program for girls in grades 3-5 and 6-8 across the Puget Sound region. During the program, girls learn specific skills and strategies such as how to manage emotions, help others, make intentional decisions, and resolve conflict. Additionally, girls are inspired to make a meaningful contribution to society through the development of a community impact project.
The program ends with a celebratory, non-competitive 5K. The program is flexible and fluid, offering a variety of ways to participate based on local community needs. From safely meeting in small teams to connecting virtually, or providing at home resources, our trained coaches are ready to help girls grow.
Girls on the Run has continued to meet in small teams in person and virtually during the pandemic following all local safety regulations. It continues to be an important social and emotional space for girls. Girls on the Run relies heavily on fundraising to provide programming as well as running gear and other materials to girls. We are excited to be able to come together for this first all city mile and support Girls on the Run Puget Sound.
