Waldo McBurney Race

The 16th Annual Waldo McBurney Race will be Saturday, August 5, 2023  at the Quinter City Park. We are excited to continue this popular race that celebrates life-long fitness in memory of Quinter's most famous centenarian, Mr. Waldo McBurney. All proceeds from the race go to the support and operations of Castle Rock Wellness Center, located in Quinter,  Grainfield, and soon in Gove.

We hope to have chip timing but are having difficulty securing a timer so we may not have chip timing this year.

This race attracts both elite level runners as well as families, with participants of all ages and fitness levels.  Both runners and walkers are welcome. 

Awards will be given to overall and age division winners for both races. All finishers age 12 and under will receive a medal. Male and Female overall 5k winners will receive $100 cash.

The course goes through the town of Quinter and has good fan support.  Come join us for a fun filled mornining!

Event details and schedule

Packet pick up may be done the night before at the city park from 6:30 to 8:00 pm or the morning of the race starting at 6 am and finishing at 7:45.

The 5k will start at 8:00 a.m.

The 1 mile will start at 9:00 a.m.

The 200 meter Children's Race will start after the 1 mile concludes. 

Overall and Age Division Awards will follow the Children's Race
