Event details

Join us for the annual Tri-State Warrior Run/Walk, 5k, 10k & HALF MARATHON! New to the 2025 race...the Bob Scott Memorial Kids Fun Run!

Come join us for this wonderful family event that benefits the Tri-State Warrior Outreach, supporting unmet needs of area Veterans and their families since 2012.

The 1 Mile Walk, 5k , 10k and Half Marathon start and end on the historic grounds of the IL Veterans Home, built in 1886. Participants will see extraordinary architecture, peaceful woods, the Deer Park, US Military memorials and go past the inspirational Avenue of Flags. The 5k, 10K and Half Marathon challenges runners along hills through Sunset Cemetery and the Medal of Honor Memorial then to the end of the Cedar Creek Trail before looping back around the IL Veteran's Home grounds to finish back at the Start/Finish line behind the Administration building. Our traditional dog tag-style medals are given to all event finishers.

New this year...our inaugural Bob Scott Memorial Kids Fun Run for ages 10 and under. Registration is $10/kid which includes a medal. 5 and under- 100 meter run. 6 and older- 200 meter run.

VIRTUAL 5K, 10K & Half Marathon OPTIONS-virtual submissions may begin at 6am on 10/26/25 through 11:30pm 11/02/25 for those unable to make it on race day. Virtual runners will get a shirt and medal if registered by 10/17/25.

There will be chip timing for the event but be advised that the 5k, 10k & Half Marathon routes cross RR tracks at the IL Veterans Home so there is a good chance you might have an unexpected break should a train come through. See all running routes and our 1 mile walk on our Facebook pages for the Tri-State Warrior Outreach and Tri State Warrior Run.

Weather: late October in West Central IL can be anywhere from mild 50s-60s to 20s & 30s-we've had everything since this race began so watch the local weather for what to expect race week! No matter what the temperature happens to be, it's always a beautiful day to run at Mays Park and the historic IL Vet's Home-the oldest in the U.S. and worth the visit!

Shirt sizes are guaranteed only with online registration by Friday 10/17/25. Online Registration ends at midnight Thursday 10/23/25. Packet pickup and late registration will be Saturday 10/25/25 at Running Wild 3502 Broadway from 11am-4pm.
