The Sunset Mile

In the summer of 2020, we were feeling isolated, frustrated and confused. All races were cancelled and training plans were on hold. We were trying to isolate but stay in shape and maintain social connections, so as runners do - we decided to have our own race.

A group of friends got together and organized a mile time trial at Cornelia Fort Airpark. What started as a fun, grassroots mile race with a group of friends blossomed into long-lasting friendships and feeling a sense of community during the most isolated time.

While life and races have resumed, we've missed our little grassroots mile race and decided to bring it back. But this time, it starts right at Sunset.

Come out, see some old friends, make some new friends, and see what kind of mile race shape you are in while you’re at it! 😉

Race start is 8:01pm. All are welcome, sign up soon, since space is limited. Be sure to get there earlier if you want to warm up!
