Event details

Race Day Logistics:

When: Registration opens at 815 AM. Please arrive no later than 830 AM. The race will begin promptly at 9:00 AM.

Where: The race starts and ends at Fletcher's Boathouse (4940 Canal Road, NW Washington, DC US 20007). There is available parking. 

Other important info:  
There are restrooms at the start line.
This is a flat out-and-back course, along the C&O Canal towpath.  The towpath is a hard-packed crush-and-run.
Water will be available at the start/finish line.
All finishers will receive a medal.  Prizes will be awarded for the fastest male and female. 
The awards ceremony for in-person runners will take place around 10:00 am

Race Description:

Support The House DC by participating in The House DC's 5th Annual CANDY CORN 5k!

Run or Walk along the beautiful and historic C&O Canal, starting at milepost 3.1, Fletcher's Boathouse.  Can't make it in person?  A virtual option is available too.

PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED!  $100 for First Place Male and $100 for First Place Female.

Registration costs $40 for adults and $20 for children, and includes a race t-shirt, finisher's medal and your running bib.  PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU REGISTER AFTER OCTOBER 1, we cannot guarantee that you will get your t-shirt before the race, but you will get it!!!

The House DC is breaking cycles of poverty, homelessness, incarceration and unemployment by providing at risk youth in Anacostia - a neighborhood in Washington, DC - with comprehensive services to help them establish healthy and sustainable futures.  The House DC empowers our students to develop their passions, achieve their educational goals and establish stable careers.
