The Angry Chicken Race Series is back in 2025!. 

Race distance is 2.62 miles – a tenth of a marathon! – with runners going counter-clockwise (against traffic) on the loop portion of the course. 

The races  are run each Tuesday evening starting at 7PM (early start at 6:50), from June 10th to August 12th (eight races).  Scoring will give 1000 points to the race winner, and everyone else a percentage of that based on their finish time. Starting this year, all eight races will be scored, with prizes to the winners given out after Race 8 on August 12th. A minimum of three races must be run to win.

Note: there will be no race  July 2nd and July 29th.

The races begin and end at the S-curve at the entrance to the Riverwalk (at the end of River Place road).

Bib pick-up is on Tuesdays from 6:00 to 6:45 PM at Marx Running and Fitness, 118 Merrimack Street in downtown Lowell.

Cost is $10 per race when registering online (below) – $70 if you register for the whole series.  You can register online at bib pick-up (QR scan code will be provided at Marx) for the same $10 price.  However, it’s $12 per race to register manually in-person using cash or check.

Donations benefit Catie's Closet. Catie’s Closet is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides clothes, toiletries, and other basic essentials to students living in poverty right with thin their schools.  Free stores are set up in schools, giving children direct access to everything they need to attend class confidently. https://www.catiescloset.org  For the final race on August 12th, we'll be collecting new and gently used youth/teen clothing, and full-sized toiletries.
