Kick off the new year with the Swarthmore Recreation Association!

The SRA New Year's Day 5K is a fun Swarthmore tradition that the whole family can enjoy. Ring in the new year walking or jogging through our beautiful borough of Swarthmore. Our USTAF-certified 5K course begins near the Swarthmore College Fieldhouse, winds through town, and ends on the Swarthmore College Track. A fun kids dash (free, no registration required) will take place at 11:30am.

Bib and Shirt Pick up: 

For racers registered by December 28th, bib and shirt will be at Bryn Mawr Running Company in Media, PA on Tuesday, December 30 from 3:30-5:30 pm.

Child Watch:

Do you and your backup kid-watcher both want to run? Onsite babysitting will be provided by SRA’s teen sports mentors for potty-trained youngsters aged 4-12 in the Swarthmore College Fieldhouse. This is only for children of registered runners and space is very limited. After you register for the race, sign up here.

Event Day Details:

• 9:00-10:30am: Onsite registration and bib/shirt pickup at the Inn at Swarthmore
• 10:30am: 5K begins
• 11:30am: Free kids and family dash
• 12:00pm: Refreshments end

Registration Milestones:

• Before December 1: $20.26
• December 1-20: $35.00
• December 21-28: $40.00
• December 29-Race Day (onsite): $45.00

Registration Includes:

• Long sleeve tech shirt
• Light snacks and refreshments (coffee, pretzels, granola bars, etc.)

Prizes:

• Gift cards for 1st and 2nd place overall male and female finishers
• Medals for male and female age group winners
• Ribbons for all kids who participate in the kids dash

Team Competition

• Team competition in two categories: competitive and creative.  Awards will be given to the faster overall team and to the most creative entry.
• Create a team at registration or after registration
