Bring out your inner Super Powers for Swim 4 Braxton's  2nd Annual Spectacular SuperHero 5K Race on Saturday, April 27, 2024.  Or …. register for the 1 mile Fun Hero Memorial Run/Walk (untimed). This race is being held in honor of Braxton Ackerman, a 4 year old little superhero who lost his life, 3 days after his 4th birthday, in March 2022 due to a water related accident at his home.

Super Hero attire (capes, masks, shields) is HIGHLY encouraged!!!!

The events start in the Desert Mountain Park in Queen Creek, AZ.

Proceeds go to the Swim 4 Braxton. Our goal is to raise awareness on water safety and prevent drownings through education. We are asking for your help by attending our walk or race or even by donating. All race profits go towards funding swimming lessons for kids, pool fence/barrier installation, and other drowning prevention tools.

THIS RACE IS DOG AND STROLLER FRIENDLY!!!!

If you prefer not to do that route there is a walk only option that will take place during the race.

VIRTUAL OPTION...

We also have virtual options for both events. Submit your times between April 1st and 29th and run the race or do the walk anywhere you like.

SWIM 4 BRAXTON
Swim 4 Braxton, a 501(C)(3) non-profit foundation, was incorporated on December 8, 2022, after the tragic drowning of 4 year old Braxton Ackerman. Our hope is that through spreading awareness and being able to financially help when needed, we can prevent similar events from happening. At Swim 4 Braxton, we strongly believe and recommend that every home with a pool needs to have a child barrier (even if you don’t have children yourself ), along with proper supervision at all times. We also promote swimming lessons and CPR.

Surprisingly, 58% of parents report that they don’t consider drowning a risk to their children, yet statistics show that a swimming pool is 14 times more likely to be involved in the death of a child, aged 1 — 4 years old, than a motor vehicle. In fact, while most parents worry about things like a hot stove, iron, sharp objects, a fall from tall surfaces, perhaps animals, or even a loaded gun in the house, the most dangerous thing is something that is always around us in some way: water. And the worst part is that we don’t tend to think much about this. But whether it be the toilet, sink, pool, bathtub, a puddle outside, a pot or pan, there is a constant need to protect your child from becoming a victim.
