Welcome to the 9th Annual Bernalillo County Sugar Skull Fun Run!
Get ready to walk, jog, strut and stroll at this year’s Sugar Skull Fun Run, taking place on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2023.
Along the scenic Tingley Drive between Central Ave and 8th Street.
Free parking will be located at the Bugarium Parking Lot at the ABQ Bio Park, located north of the intersection of Central Ave and Tingley Drive. Parking is VERY limited and carpool/rideshare is highly encouraged

Additional parking is offered at the Monte Carlo Steakhouse (3916 Central Ave SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105) with complimentary shuttle van service to the race venue. The shuttle service will be available from 6:45am – Noon.
This year, participants can select from a timed 5K event for runners and walkers and an untimed one-mile strut and stroll for strollers and pets. Whether you are walking, jogging or running your way to the finish line, we look forward to cheering you on in your Día de los Muertos attire!
Children ages five years and younger may participate for FREE - no registration required.
Participants who register after Sept. 29 will not be guaranteed preferred shirt size. Shirts will be available at packet pick-up, sizes based on availability.
Pets are welcome for the one-mile strut and stroll.
Food trucks and the Muerto Market are open to the public.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Bernalillo County Quality of Life Fund, which supports responsible and effective philanthropy that enriches community wellness, and social and cultural experiences of Bernalillo County residents and visitors. The Quality of Life Fund has provided money and medical care for homeless pets, including vaccinations and microchipping, hotel vouchers for the homeless during COVID-19, and for established events like South Valley Pride Day and Bosque Chile Festival that have strong traditions and ties to the community.
