This race is to raise money for our Back to Schools (BTS) program - which provides the services below to 11 of our Bossier Parish Title 1 schools, as well as the Title 1 office.  This program has 2 projects:

 

1. Meals for Students - During the school year we provide weekend meal bags to kids who are food insecure at the sponsored schools.  We also provide meal bags over the extended breaks to make sure the kids at these schools don't go without over the fall, Christmas and spring breaks.  In addition, we provide meals for athletes weekly for one of our middle schools.

 

2. Uniforms for All - For the past 11 years, we have provided brand new uniforms including shorts, shirts, pants, sweatshirts and coats to these same schools; as well as replenish their school supply closet.  

 

Last year we served 4000 students and this year we will do even more.  Our mission is to end school poverty and make teachers heroes.  We believe that when a child is well fed and dressed, they can focus better, listen better and feel ready to learn along with their peers.

• Kids Fun Run - $15 kid’s run start time: 7:50. 
• 5K - $25 and will include race entry 
• Sleep-In/donation only - However much they want!
