St. Luke’s D&L RaceFest
Sub-events Details
Half Marathon
Marathon
Join us for the third annual St. Luke’s D&L RaceFest as we return four signature events to the Lehigh Valley.
Starting in downtown Allentown at 8:00 a.m.:
Starting in Historic Downtown Bethlehem at 7:30 a.m.:
All four races will end with a post-race party in beautiful downtown Easton at the scenic confluence of the Delaware and Lehigh rivers.
Both the marathon and half marathon use the D&L Trail for a majority of their courses. The trail follows the Lehigh River for a gentle net elevation drop with fine gravel or pavement depending on the section. Participants can expect a beautiful trail, joint-friendly terrain, and crisp autumn temperatures.
We are grateful to welcome back title sponsor St. Luke’s University Health Network as an advocate for trails and a wellness champion across our region.
Proceeds will benefit Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor Inc., a 501(c)3, for heritage and environmental programming as well as the ongoing development and promotion of the D&L Trail. Your participation will move the D&L Trail toward becoming the longest multi-use trail in Pennsylvania, stretching over 165 miles from Wilkes-Barre to Bristol.
Deadline for personalized race bibs: September 25. (Relay teams, too!)
Deadline for guaranteed shirt size: October 6
Registration closes November 2 or when field limits have been hit.
Register today for a weekend to remember in the Lehigh Valley!
The St. Luke’s D&L Marathon is a point-to-point course that is USATF-certified (PA23003DT) and a Boston qualifier. The course is widely regarded as an excellent race for Boston Qualifying because of its flat or gentle downhill grade, shade and lack of turns.
The marathon course will start in downtown Allentown near 8th and Hamilton Streets. It will turn south onto Martin Luther King Jr. Drive before heading into the Little Lehigh Parkway, which Runner’s World once named one of the top 100 places to run in the country. You’ll do about three miles in the Parkway before heading back to Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and beginning your trek eastward.
You’ll hit the D&L Trail in Canal Park at about mile 9.5, reach Bethlehem’s Sand Island at about mile 13.5, then follow the D&L Trail all the way into Easton, where you’ll finish triumphantly near Scott Park along the confluence of the Delaware and Lehigh rivers.
The marathon starts at 8 a.m., Downtown Allentown. We will have a marathon field limit of 750 runners. Don’t get shut out!
You must be 18 years of age or older to participate.
