Event details

The Skyline Mountain Marathon is a true hidden gem in the trail running world. It has views, it has ridgline running, and it has ice! With elevation gain of around 5K ft, your legs are sure to be screaming. With over 90% on rough single track trail, it will diffidently challenge you. For those of you looking for something not quite as punishing, there is a Half Marathon or 30K option. And for those of you looking to really push yourself, the 55K is for you, with almost 7K ft in climbing. Both the marathon and 55K are great training runs for the fall 100 milers.
So, if you like pain, you have come to the right place. You’ll need to ride this pain and exhilaration like a sadistic roller coaster to make it through these killer events.

Starting near North Fork Park, Liberty UT, the course points directly uphill. In the shadow of the famous Ben Lomond Peak, yes famous, you will twist and turn on the switchbacks for 6 miles before arriving at the “saddle” where you will connect to the Skyline Trail and be greeted by Aid Station #1.

From Aid Station #1 runners will turn southeast and head toward the North Ogden Divide. This section of the trail is fast and almost completely downhill. At different points on this trail you will have views reaching all the way to the Salt Lake Valley.

Aid Station #2 will be located at mile 12.1.

From Aid Station #2 your quads will hate you because you point up hill again. Following the South Skyline Trail, runners will head south toward Windsurfers Beach.

Aid Station #3 will be located at the top of this climb, roughly 3 miles from Aid Station #2. Aid Station #3 offers a beautiful view of Ogden Valley, just before you start to head downhill toward Pineview Reservoir.

Aid Station #4 is located at the Windsurfers Beach. From here you will face what many call the most torturous section of the entire race. You will follow the Pineview Trail along the shoreline of Pineview Reservoir, connect to the North Arm trail and finish in “downtown” Eden at Eden Park.

Packet Pickup

Packet pickup is Friday August 8th, 2025 at 1937 Washington Blvd, Ogden, UT 84401, from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. Big thanks to our Partners Fleet Feet for all their help. Please make sure to say thanks to their employees and the volunteers for helping all you crazy people.

There is No race day packet pickup.  If you do not pick it up prior to Saturday morning, you will receive a DNS… No “I’m sorry”, or “I forgot”… Packet pick up on the day of the race, is time consuming and creates problems. Please try to avoid it. If you do have a really good reason, you can always ask and we could say yes, but we try hard not to, for the sake of the other runners. The Start line is always very busy, so please do your best to pick up the night before.

Start Time
The Marathon and 55K start at 5:00 am.  Remember, participants will be parking at the Finish area and boarding a shuttle that will take them to the Start Line. Parking at the start line is very limited. Just ride the bus!

Check in Procedures
Check in will happen when you get off the bus at the start line. Everyone must check in at the start line. Yes, you checked in and got your bib. Yes, you got on the bus, but if you do not check in at the start line, you will receive  DNS (Did not start) and if you get lost you will be on your own because we will not know you are on the trail… So PLEASE remember to check in at the start line.

Check in is from 4:15 am – 4:45 am….. Please do not show up at 5:45. Just get on the bus, show up a bit early, check in, and warm up.

Parking
Parking is available in the field directly south of the finish line. There will be a sign telling you where to park.

Shuttle Leaves Eden Park at 4:15 a.m.
Worse case scenario you miss the shuttle, you can still drive to the start line, but you have to find your own ride back to your car, because there will not be one provided. And this doesnt mean you can pretend you missed the shuttle just so you can park at the start line. You are paying for the bus, just use it please!

Start: Runners will start at 5:00 am in a mass start
