Event details

It's the third annual 5K for Kids with 99.7 DJX, 102.3 The Rose, ALT 105.1, Magic 101.3, and B96.5! This family-friendly 5K race has moved to December, so get your ugliest Christmas sweater & jingle bells ready and we'll see you on December 3 at Joe Creason Park in Louisville. Your registration includes a professionally timed 5K run/walk at Joe Creason Park, a custom Santa hat, and a finisher's medal. Safety is our number one priority so extra measures will be in place for every runner. A portion of every registration sold will benefit RONALD McDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES OF KENTUCKIANA. Break out of the house, help kids, and have some socially responsible fun! From 99.7 DJX, 102.3 The Rose, ALT 105.1, Magic 101.3, and B96.5.

In addition, Alpha Media would like to welcome & thank the Louisville Parks and Recreation for the support in making this race happen. With its new venue within our beautiful local parks system, Santa is sure to find us as we race through the park & race money for such a great cause. Louisville Parks and Recreation, a nationally accredited parks and recreation agency, manages 120 parks and six parkways on more than 13,000 acres of land and operates recreation programs for area residents of all ages and abilities. Since taking office in 2011, Mayor Greg Fischer has been committed to ensuring equity in parks and recreation, including the start of the West Louisville Outdoor Recreation Initiative, the Louisville’s Engaging Children Outdoors (ECHO) programming and most recently, becoming the third city in the country to launch an equity review of all Metro-owned parks and facilities. bestparksever.com

Safety for everyone is our number one priority so extra measures will be put in place for every runner:

If you are able to, please pick up your packet on Friday, December 2 from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. at Fleet Feet Louisville to eliminate race morning lines and gatherings.
Racers who are unable to attend packet pickup, will be able to pick up their race packet on December 3rd, 8am at Joe Creason Park, near the start line
If you are feeling under the weather or have a fever, please do not attend the 5K for Kids.

The 5K FOR KIDS will benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kentuckiana (RMHCK). RMHCK provides the home and support that allows families to stay together while they focus on the healing of their sick children at a critical time. The RMH began with 19 guest rooms in 1984. As the need grew, so did they. In 2003, RMHCK expanded to 29 rooms, and then expanded again in 2009, this time to 36 guest rooms, each accommodating up to four people. Their latest expansion, completed in 2020, took us to 56 guest rooms. Your support of the House during these tough times will allow them to continue to provide the support so many families need.

To support RMHCK even more, they will be on site on race morning collecting new stuffed animals to distribute to children staying at the house over the holiday season!
