Race Options: Marathon The 26.2 mile race begins at an elevation of 750 feet in the Santa Barbara foothills on a downhill course. The first 13 miles progress through the exquisite gardens of Montecito and then moves oceanfront along Carpinteria and Summerland. The last 4 miles meander along Santa Barbara’s picturesque oceanfront to finish at the historic La Playa Stadium at Santa Barbara City College. This is one of three events this weekend. The other two are a 10K through the heart of scenic downtown Santa Barbara and the other is an Adventure Challenge designed for both family participation and coporate/open athletes.
