One of the most well-loved events in the Sarasota-Bradenton-Lakewood Ranch area. We are thrilled to continue our tradition of purchasing a racing wheelchair and wheelchair bike for challenged athletes.

This event annually attracts hundreds of people to Lakewood Ranch Main Street on May 27th, 2023 from 6 to 9 PM. Festivities following the 5K event; Food, drinks, music, and live awards presentation.

This family-friendly event is for runners of all ages and abilities, featuring a "Duo team" wheelchair push division. There will be finisher medals for the first 500 registered 5K participants.

$4,000.00 in Cash prizes will be awarded to Overall Winners.
Age group winners who place 1st thru 6th will receive awards.

Last year, our first year back since 2013, was one of the fastest 5k races in Florida in 2022. Duo Team Garrett Miller and Sammy Lomas led the way with a winning time of 23:10!

2022 Highlights - Overall winning time of 15:00, Masters winning time of 17:32, and a Top 50 time of 22:58.

.Join us in 2023 for a great run at the 7th Annual Sammy's Run 5k.

Train up for this one and get ready for some great competition on this flat and fast course featuring timing clocks and checkpoints at Mile 1, 1.55 Turnaround, Mile 2, and Mile 3.

Providing runners with elite-level data points for their 5k effort and clocks at each point to keep you on pace and eyes on the road.

All the proceeds will go toward Event expenses and the purchase of the racing wheelchair (cost of $5,000.00); another challenged athlete will also receive a wheelchair bicycle (cost of $10,000.00).
