KMXT's Run the Rock is a family-friendly event featuring a marathon, half marathon, 10k, and 5k.

The marathon starts on Near Island, goes across the bridge, through town, and out to the golf course. It then joins the half marathon and 10k courses which go through the scenic Buskin Lake valley, up and over the pass, down to Anton Larsen Bay, and back to the Bear Valley Golf Course. Part of the marathon course is on a paved road, part on a gravel road. All of the half and 10k are on gravel road courses.

The 5k is a flat roadway course that starts and finishes at Bear Valley Golf Course.
