Please join us as we honor the life of Stephen Kay in the third annual Risk it for the Biscuit 5k on May 4th, 2025 at 9 AM in St. Johns, MI, Stephen's hometown.

Stephen passed away on December 4, 2021 at the age of 29. He was a husband, son, brother, uncle and a friend to many and he is greatly missed. It goes without saying that Stephen loved running. So what better way to celebrate his life and legacy than by putting on a 5k in his honor. One of Stephen's many catchphrases was "Risk it for the Biscuit". This phrase encompasses how he would encourage others to take chances in life and to live life to the fullest.

Proceeds from the 5k will go towards covering event costs and towards the Stephen Kay Memorial Scholarship Fund, a scholarship for high school seniors on St. John's cross country team where Stephen first developed his passion for running.

Packet Pick-Up

Packet Pickup will be held at the St. Johns High School Athletic Entrance from 7:45AM to 8:45AM on Sunday morning (Race Day). There will be signs to indicate the entrance. All race registrants for the run/walk must go to packet pickup to check-in and receive a race bib so plan accordingly and arrive early!

Same Day Registration

Late registration will be available on race morning at St. Johns High School (Athletic Entrance) from 7:45AM to 8:45AM on Race Day. However, we recommend signing up before race morning if able. Please bring a smart phone if you have one for ease of same-day registration. We do not take cash.

Parking

Parking will be held at the St. John's High School Athletic Entrance parking lot (same as race registration on the northwest corner of campus) near the start/finish line (see course map below).
