Point to point
The Kansas City Chiefs and Arrowhead Events are hosting the fourth-annual Red Wednesday Run presented by GEHA to coincide with the club’s yearly Red Wednesday celebration on Wednesday, September 6th. This year’s edition of the race remains virtual and will add to festivities leading up to the 2023-2024 NFL season prior to the Chiefs hosting the Detroit Lions at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on Thursday, September 7th.
As part of the race registration, participants will receive this year’s special edition Red Wednesday flag benefiting Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City (RMHC-KC), a Red Wednesday Run t-shirt, and their race bib, mailed directly to the address provided during registration. In true Red Wednesday fashion, $5 from each registration will be donated to RMHC-KC.
With no official racecourse for this year’s event, Chiefs fans throughout the country and all over the world can participate virtually with the option to complete the 5K however they choose, including running or walking in their neighborhood, in a local park, on a nature trail or from their treadmill.
While Wednesday, September 6th serves as the official day of the Red Wednesday 5K, the virtual race will be open on Wednesday, August 9th and will conclude on Sunday, October 1st. Once participants complete the 5K, they’re asked to take a photo in their Chiefs/Red Friday 5K gear with their Red Wednesday flag and post it on social media using #RedWednesday.
The 2023 Red Wednesday Run presented by GEHA marks the 14th team-sponsored 5K run/walk for the Chiefs and Arrowhead Events and is designed to give all Chiefs fans the opportunity to connect with the team, even virtually. Whether you run or walk, finish with the fastest time, or just run for fun, the Red Wednesday 5K is designed for everyone to enjoy.
