PS 199 Community,

You are invited to our PS 199 Spring 2024 5K race!!!

Come out with families and friends to run, jog, walk, or just to cheer! Our *goal* for this race is to have fun while raising over $10,000 for PS 199 to fund programs, activities, staff, supplies, and technology for our school community. We had an AMAZING and fun-filled event last year and we hope this will be even better!!!

When: May 19 (rain or shine!)

9:30-10:00 - Early check-in / fuel-up with a healthy snack provided by us!

10:00 - Check-in and get your pre-race giveaway

10:15am - Guided stretch and warm-up on pier: led by P.S. 199's gym teacher Mr. Miller!

10:30am – Race start!

11:30am – Awards ceremony

11:45pm – Post-race hangout: after the race grab a bite at pier i café or just hang out there for a post-race party

If you cannot attend the in-person race, you can sign up for the virtual option above.

Where: Start/finish @ pier i cafe (Riverside Park South) – enter @ w 68th st and Riverside and walk down the ramp!

Race route: From pier i cafe, head south for 0.3 miles, turn and come back (1K). You’re welcome to end there, especially if you have very young ones participating, but you will not be eligible for awards. Everyone else will head north to the tunnel just past the old Boathouse, up the hill toward the Conservatory Garden, turn at mile 2 near Hippo Playground, and head back to the finish behind Pier i. (Turns will be marked and volunteers will be present to guide racers.) We will provide an aid station at Mile 2 and lots of cheering along the route!

Restrooms are available at the start/finish and along the route at parks.
