Paws for Domestic Violence Survivors 5K

Paws for Domestic Violence Survivors, a 1k fun walk and 5k run/walk is a benefit for Praline's Backyard Foundation. The Foundation financially and logistically support the housing of pets of domestic violence survivors anywhere in the United States. In addition to raising funds for a great cause the race aims to bring attention to an often-overlooked barrier for survivors of domestic violence - the safety and well-being of their pets.

Participants are encouraged to bring their dogs along for the walk or run, and there will be plenty of opportunities for your  four-legged friends to socialize, have fun and create Instragram worthy photos  The 1k fun walk and 5k run/walk offer participants the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors while spending time with pets. Whether you are a seasoned runner or just starting out walking, this event is suitable for all skill levels.

By participating in this event, you will be supporting a great cause. Sixty-dollars from the purchase of each race participate will go towards housing the pet of a domestic violence survivors for one night. Your contribution will help provide a safe and loving environment for pets, allowing survivors to focus on rebuilding their lives and finding a safe place to call home. Not only will you be helping to protect pets, but you will also be contributing to the empowerment of domestic violence survivors.

As a participant, you will receive a Go Bag ( a small replica of what is given to each foster pet parent that houses a survivors pet), race t-shirt, and your pet will receive a special bandana highlighting 'No Dog Left Behind.' There will also be prizes for the top finishers, as well as a raffle with exciting prizes donated by local businesses. Snacks and refreshments will also be available for all participants.
