You can't ask for better trail running than Mt. Tamalpais in Marin County (45 minutes north of San Francisco). The 7 Mile course covers a loop on the Stinson-side of the mountain, while the 25K and Marathon head down into Muir Woods before climbing back up another 1,800 feet to begin the descent back to the Stinson Beach finish line.
