Join us for an extraordinary running experience through the heart of Malta, often referred to as the 'jewel of the Mediterranean.' The La Valette Marathon promises to be an unforgettable event, where you'll run alongside the stunning Mediterranean Sea, with history as your backdrop.

The event is held on the enchanting island of Malta, where history comes to life with every step you take. Malta's storied past stretches back 7000 years, making it an open-air museum that captivates the imagination. This Mediterranean gem has witnessed the rise and fall of empires, the building of ancient temples, and the fortifications that have defended it throughout the ages.

One remarkable chapter in Malta's history is the legacy of Grand Master Jean de La Valette, often referred to as "The Shield of Europe." In 1565, he led the valiant defense of Malta during the Great Siege, a pivotal moment in European history. The La Valette Marathon named in honour of Grand Master Jean De La Valette finishes in the same fortifications that withstood the tests of time and are the same fortifications the defended Malta in the infamous Great Seige.

The route is entirely coastal and is Malta's only AIMS certified Full & Half marathon route.

The Event is an Abbott World Major Qualifier
