Event details
History and culture come together beautifully with the La Valette Malta Marathon!
The first AIMS accredited marathon and half marathon in Malta, The La Valette Malta Marathon is organised by Corsa race events. The route takes runners along some of the most breathtaking views on the island, running all along the historical Valletta coast, with open seas on one side and the majestic medieval fortifications on the other. The race passes by the Grand Harbour and finishes in style in Vittoriosa in the historical centre of the The Three Cities.
Both events will be held on February 5th 2023 to make the best of the Mediterranean climate with an average temperature of 14°C. This gives anyone, from budding runners to elite athletes, the opportunity to form part of the most important event on the athletic calendar of Malta.

Level
This is a medium-level marathon - the half marathon has a 132m elevation gain and a 143m elevation loss with a net loss of 11 metres overall and the full marathon has a 302m elevation gain and a 318m elevation loss netting a 16m drop for an average-paced race.
Terrain Style
The La Valette Malta Marathon is a road marathon with a mostly smooth, paved route. There are areas where the paving is slightly erratic but for the most part we can consider this a road race.
Variants
There is a 21.1km half marathon and the same route will be used for a walkathon.
