Event details

Kids Cancer Foundation Superhero 5K in loving memory of Sebastian benefits Kids Cancer Foundation of South Florida.  All proceeds stay local and within the community.  The Kids Cancer Foundation provides support and hope to local kids and families who are fighting cancer and/or blood disorders.  Sebastian's 5k is in memory of Sebastian Sarmiento, a courageous Wellington 9-year old boy who lost his battle with cancer on January 30, 2009.  The theme for this family event is superheroes.  Participants may register in the regular 5K or register in the superhero category and come dressed in costume.   After the run there will be activities for the whole family. This is an event no one will want to miss!

Event details and schedule

The race will start at 8 am. Same day registration and packet pick up will start at 7 am (best if can pick up before day of event to make registration less crowded).

Awards will be given for overall winners, age group winners, super hero category, and largest group. Please arrive in enough time to park and carpool if possible. Parking will be on the grassy area next to the dog park. 

Packet pick up will be on October 26 and 27 8AM TO 7PM & October 28 8AM to 5PM at:Kids Cancer Foundation                                                       246 Royal Palm Beach Blvd, Royal Palm Beach, FL 33411. 

Participant may choose from either a shirt for males or a tank top for females. Please bring your Id to packet pick up. 

The race will be a timed event taking place in the Royal Palm Beach Commons Park. The start and finish of the race will take place on the road by the water fountains. The first half of the race please stay on the outside of the path (red and blue section in the map). We will have signs and volunteers directing participants in the correct directions. After mile 1.25 participants will be directed on the path behind the dog park (part of the yellow section in map). The half way point will have the water stop in the road. The last section of the course will be around the back side of the park (light blue and green section in map). Participants will finish by running along the sidewalk by the parking lot for the golf range and up and through the finish line (part of green section). Participants should not go over any bridges. If you do you are off course.
