COURSE SELECTION This event is a combination of 4 trails at Kickapoo State Park. This event is not for the weak. We invite you to run, jog, walk or crawl all four courses through this park and enjoy the trails and your friends while testing your strength, stamina, and endurance.
This will be a timed event. Starting at 8:00 am, you will have 8 hours to complete all four trails. Bring a hydration pack or snack if you need them.
The central checkpoint will be at the Ironwood Shelter, and you will have the opportunity to get granola bars and water here. To snack on if you like.
Trail 1: Start with the Wilderness Out and Back. The 6-mile course, which is 95% trail, heads east out of the park before turning into the woods, where the adventure begins. You will climb and descend steep hills, cross creeks and bridges, and, if lucky, see deer and other wildlife. This is a scenic and challenging run
Trail 2: Next up is the Clear Pond Trail The 5K run is a rustic trail alongside the clear pond and takes you down the spooky hollow and up the Stairway to 7. Follow the signs for the Clear (Pond) Trail.
Trail 3: Then mosey on over to the Mountain Goat Course for an out and back. Run down cemetery hill and up the next hill and take a hard left to run behind the fairgrounds and run across the newest Kickapoo Rail Trail Bridge and run the forgotten Mountain Goat Loop then come back to the checkpoint.
Trail 4: Last is the North Riverview trail. This will be the last out and back. Head West and turn right by the landing and venture North up the hill. Follow the NV sign which takes you around the west side of the clear pond and make your way back to the checkpoint to finish.PARKING
Please arrive early for parking and only park in designated parking spots.
Do not park on grass or alongside the roads.

CAMPING Kickapoo has two major campgrounds for tent and trailer camping, with 184 sites. About half the sites have electrical hookups. Two shower buildings and a sanitary dump station are available. A limited number of walk-in sites are available for primitive campers, but several campsites can be reserved by writing the site or by applying in person. All campers must obtain a camping permit before entering the campgrounds. For more information go to: https://camp.exploremoreil.com/
REGULATIONS No bandits, radios, strollers, or dogs are allowed. No shirts or awards will be mailed. No refunds. You must be present to win drawing prizes during post-race party.
After Party & Awards No KRR event is complete without the afterparty. KRR will provide picnic style food that fits the weather. This event has a Traveling trophy for the top Male and Female Finishers. Each year you will need to add something special to the trophy and then present it to the winner the following year. Kickapoo staff will provide some picnic tables, so feel free to bring your own chairs, drinks, blankets, etc. to the post-race party.
SPECIAL THANKS Please join us in thanking the Kickapoo State Recreation Area Staff, all of our dedicated volunteers, and our loyal sponsors.
