The Keep Momma Moving Walk-a-thon takes place at Jess Lucas Y-Teen Park located in historic downtown Hapeville, Georgia. The park offers a walking track, shade from an extensive canopy of beautiful trees, lots of green space, benches, a gazebo, a bathroom facility, and a children’s playground. This welcoming community is the perfect space for families and friends to gather to celebrate moms. All registrants will receive a t-shirt as well as food, prizes and music as motivation to reach the event goal of 500 total laps walked on race day.
Race Day Registration: 8am-9:15am
Walk-a-thon begins at 9:30am
6 laps around the walking track equals 1 mile
The goal will be for all walkers to work as a group to complete 900 laps.
Walk-a-thon ends 11:30am. Feel free to enjoy festivities until 12:30pm.
All participants that register after July 23, 2019 will NOT recieve a t-shirt on race day. Your t-shirt will be mailed after race day.
Please bring ID to provide at check-in on race day.
Parking available in park parking lot
The park is easily accessible from MARTA. Take bus 172 from the College Park (Sylvan Rd - Oakland City) or Oakland City (Virginia Ave - College Park) train station. The buses run every 30 minutes on Saturday.
EMS, a nurse, and security will be on staff.
Several park benches are located around the track; however, feel free to bring a lawn chair.
The event takes place rain or shine. For the safety of participants, the event will be postponed if presented with thunder or lightning. If inclement weather persists, event organizers hold the right to cancel the event. If cancellation occurs, t-shirts will be mailed to all registrants that have not already received one.
