500 bikers race 27 miles on backcountry rolling hills through 5 towns in the Berkshires; canoe, kayak or paddleboard 5 miles around Stockbridge Bowl; end with a 6.4 mile run around the lake to Camp MahKeeNac and then celebrate at the Josh 'Bash' with awards, food, and a live band! Any kayak may be used in any category except for Category 33 (Recreational Kayak). No Hobies or Foils for all teams/iron. The Recreational Category (#33) is for kayaks 12 feet and under. You can only use a Recreational canoe in Category 12 (Recreational Canoe).
The 47th Annual Josh Billings Triathlon is the oldest paddle triathlon in the world! 45 categories for ironpersons and teams with separate divisions for canoes, kayaks and paddleboards. Josh 'Matchmaker' will help put teams together, go to matchmaker@joshbillings.com. Saturday: Packet pickup, last minute registrations (if available) and team changes at the Arcadian Shop in Lenox from 12-5. Ironperson information meeting is on Saturday at 2pm at the Arcadian Shop. Sunday: Race starts in Great Barrington at 9:30am, NO race day registration. Sunday post race: The Josh 'Bash'...celebrate the day with music, food and drink, lots of awards, free Kid's Fun Run.
