Event details

  • Because of the recovery time between races, both races are available to participants. Two-mile race/walk is at 3pm, and 8K (5M) race/walk at 4:30pm after the 5K award ceremony.
  • Net proceeds go to the Joplin Early Learning Center's Cerebral Palsy scholarship fund.

  • $10/participant discount available for Joplin RoadRunners as well as companies registering 10 or more employees (please contact us to set up discount code for your employees).

  • Prizes are pumpkins!  Hi-tech shirt is optional and at discounted price with paid registration.

  • Both distances are USATF-certified and electronic-bib timed! Participants will receive a certified time for either or both distances and qualify for listing on
    MO staterunningrecords.com and on MaraRunning.org.

  • Electronic bib timing made possible by a major donation from Blue Buffalo, a major sponsor of the race.

  • Runners taking part in either race will also be ranked in traditional 10-year age groups.  Age groups are 1-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+

  • Participants in both races will also be ranked by AGP% (Age-Graded Performance Percentage - World Masters Athletics scoring chart), creating a level-playing field for all participants, regardless of gender or age.

  • Largest prize-pumpkins for fastest Male and Female in each race. Awards to top-3 age group winners and to top-three AGP% scores in each race.  Any MO age record set at either distance receives a special MO-record award and online MO-record certificate.  All participants receive event medals and/or "participation" pumpkin (while available).

  • Water and other snacks available at the start/finish and along the course.

  • Both races will start and end at the Leggett & Platt front parking lot (adjacent to Leggett Rd) and held almost entirely on the Ruby Jack trail. Course is flat and fast! Come and set a PR!!

  • Dogs and strollers ARE allowed (dogs on non-retractable leash please).
