Palmetto Running Company proudly presents the 9th annual Hilton Head Freedom 5K run & walk, a patriotic celebration taking place on Memorial Day, May 27th, 2024, at the stunning Port Royal Plantation on Hilton Head Island. The Freedom 5K is a remarkable opportunity to pay tribute to those who have bravely served in the armed forces, all within the context of a fun and family-friendly event.

Embrace the spirit of patriotism as you run with the American flag and dress in your most patriotic Red, White & Blue attire. Who knows, you might even claim the coveted most patriotic runner award. Immerse yourself in one of the most scenic courses Hilton Head has to offer.

Join us in honoring our heroes as a portion of the race proceeds and 100% of all donations will be directed towards the Semper Fi & America's Fund, supporting those who have selflessly served our nation. Lace up your running shoes, wave the flag, and let the spirit of freedom guide your steps on this memorable Memorial Day.

Schedule on Race Day:

• 7:00am-7:45am – Race Day packet pick up.
• 7:45am-8:00am – Pre-Race Ceremony. 
• 8:00am – Race start
• 9:00am – Awards presentation

• First 350 runners will receive a Freedom Run 5K race shirt.
• New this year! First 350 will also receive a Freedom 5K finishers medal.
• Custom Awards to Overall male and female and top division winners and top Dogs!
  12U, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+
• Special Freedom Run award to overall male & female winners and overall dog finisher.
• Gift cards to the island best restaurants for the most patriotic dressed participant & family!

 

ENTRY FEE

• $40– 5K Run Adult
  $25– 5K Run Military and immediate family (must present ID)
• $20 – 5K Run Children 12 & under

Stroller friendly. Leashed dogs are always welcome to participate with their owners and compete for top 3 dog finishers.

PACKET PICK UP

Packet Pick up and late registration will be held on Sunday May 26th 2-5PM at Palmetto Running Company, Shelter Cover Towne Center, Hilton Head.  *First 350 runners will receive a Freedom Run 5K race shirt. We highly recommend coming to packet pick up on Sunday, May 26th 2-5PM.  Shirt sizes are not guaranteed. There will be NO race day registration.

Custom Finishers Medals to first 350 to register.

Warm weather, sunny days, and the lowest humidity of the year make May the perfect month for a 5K.

* Hilton Head averages only 6 days of rain in the month of May.

PARKING

Limited Parking is available on site at the Port Royal Golf Course. Families and friends PLEASE CARPOOL. Follow the signs to the parking area.
