About Alternative House

Alternative House has been a lifeline for survivors of domestic violence in the Greater Lowell area since 1978. For over 40 years, we’ve provided critical support through emergency shelter, a 24-hour crisis hotline, safe and transitional housing, legal advocacy, supervised visitation, youth programs, and support groups. We also offer case management, safety planning, financial empowerment, and job/education placement services - helping survivors rebuild their lives with strength and dignity.

About the Healing Steps Road Race

Join us for the 2nd Annual Healing Steps Road Race, an inspiring event to raise funds for survivors of domestic violence. This race brings the community together to support life-changing services and raise awareness for a safer future.

• Volunteers cheer on racers with water stations and encouragement along the route
• Family and fitness level friendly – welcoming all ages and fitness levels
• Your participation helps provide shelters, counseling, legal aid, and advocacy to those in need

Race Details

• Date: Sunday, June 1, 2025
• Start/Finish: The LASA (Love All Serve All) Foundation, 40 Old Ferry Road, Lowell MA.
• 5K Course: From LASA, turn right on Old Ferry Road to Varnum Ave, right on Varnum Ave to Pawtucket Boulevard (halfway point & water station), right on Pawtucket Boulevard going back to Old Ferry Road, right on Old Ferry Road to LASA.
• 10K Course: Complete the loop twice
• T-Shirts: EXTENDED - must be registered May 16, 2025, to receive your stylish race shirt!

• Parking: Cross River Center, 1001 Pawtucket Blvd (volunteers will assist). NEW THIS YEAR - SHUTTLE BUS FROM THE PARKING AREA TO THE START/FINISH LINE
• Packet Pickup: Race day starting at 7:00 AM at LASA Foundation
• Bathrooms: Available on-site
