  • The HCC Hawk Run 5K & 1 Mile has two options for participating in-person or virtually for 2025!
  • Create a Team of friends, family, students, and/or colleagues!  Teams will be recognized for:  (1)  most participants, (2) most spirited team, and (3) team that "glows" the most!! 
  • Help your campus win the Hawk Run Traveling for most participants--Sign up today!!

 

RACE PROCEEDS

  • All race proceeds will go to the Hillsborough Community College Foundation for student scholarships!

 

GENERAL EVENT DETAILS

Race Week:  

In-Person Race:  Saturday, February 1, 2025

  • $25.00 Registration
  • MyLaps Bib Tag Sports Timing System (RFID Technology)
  • 5K Run/Walk:  Registration 5:30-6:30 PM; Start Time:  7:00 PM (strollers allowed/no pets)
  • 1 Mile Run/ Walk:  Registration 5:30-6:30 PM; Start Time:  7:45 PM (strollers allowed/no pets)
  • Race Day Registration:  $30.00

Virtual Race:  Saturday, February 1 - Saturday, February 8

  • $25.00 Registration
  • Print out your Virtual Race Bib, run/walk & then send in your results.
  • See below for details on how to participate.
  • Post your pic on our race website Photos Tab, social media & enter special social media contests! #HCCHawkRun
  • Visit our Facebook page for pictures from past events.

Awards

For 5K In-Person Run: Standard 5 year groups, 14 and under, and 65 and over.

  • Certificates for top three finishers in each age group.

 

Top three male and female finishers in the following groups (one prize per person):

  • Non-students: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Places
  • Masters: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Places
  • Student participants: 1st Place-$250, 2nd Place-$100 and 3rd Place-$75 Cash Prizes

 

Social Media Contests

Upload your photos to our Facebook page to win prizes (Winner receives 2 AMC Movie Passes); more details will be sent to registrants!
  • Family Fun Prize for most family members participating together!  Submit a picture of your family before, during or after the event!
  • Get Your Glow On Prize for participant that "glows" the most during the race. Submit a picture of yourself participating in the event!
  • Most Colorful Prize for participant that has the most colorful race outfit.  Submit a picture of yourself participating in the event!
  • Cutest Pet Prize!  Submit a picture of you and your pet (in costume or not) participating together!
  • Get Spooky Prize for participant who wears the "spookiest" costume while participating in the event. Submit a picture of yourself participating in the event!
  • HCC Student Spirit Award specifically for HCC students who show the most HCC spirit during the race! Submit a picture of yourself in HCC apparel while participating in the event!

 

Virtual Run--Here is how it works:

Step 1: Register to run/walk the virtual 5K or 1 mile, and invite your friends to join!
Step 2:  Pick up your t-shirt & other race swag at the HCC Brandon Campus on designated dates--see details below.
  • If unable to pick up your race bag, we will ship it to you in the US for a fixed $10.00 fee. 
  • Must register by Friday 10/18 to take advantage of mail option.
  • You can also select to participate without receiving race swag which donates more back to the HCC Hawk Run Endowed Scholarship Fund.
Step 3:  Run/walk the distance on your own anytime between 10/19 - 10/26, either on the official HCC Hawk Run course or on a course of your choosing, and then email your race results to be added to the HCC Hawk Run results leader board. 
  • Recognition will be given for the top three virtual male and female finishers.
  • Post a picture of your run to Facebook or Instagram using #HCCHawkRun5K .
  • Upload pictures to race website Facebook enter our fun social media contests (see registration website for more info)!
 
PACKET PICK UP OPTIONS:  In person before event, race-day before the event, through mail for extra charge, or opt out to benefit our HCC Hawk Run Endowed Scholarship fund.  See details below.

  • Location:  Outside the HCC Brandon BADM 101, 1st floor, next to Admin. building 
  • Dates/Time:  Thursday, January 30 and Friday, January 31 from 3:00 - 6:00 PM
  • Mail Option:  If you would like your race bag mailed to you for a flat rate of $10.00, you must register by Friday 1/24.

There is FREE Visitor Parking by the flagpoles on the south side of campus entering from the Columbus Drive entrance.
