Foster the Family GR is looking forward to hosting their annual Foster the Family 5K and Family Fun Day on Saturday, May 4 at Riverside Park.  

Foster the Family GR provides immediate emergency support and long-term holistic care to foster families and children in the Grand Rapids area. Our dedicated staff and team of committed volunteers deliver practical necessities to the doorstep of a foster family immediately after the placement of a child in the home. Our Foster Care Packages provide everything the child needs, from pajamas and clothing to hygiene necessities and comfort items, as well as a meal for the entire family. 

Along with meeting practical needs, we provide wraparound care to the foster parents and family through community, education, and special events. With a growing network of families, our team works tirelessly to bring local foster families the support they need and deserve.

5K Participants: Raise $150 and you will receive a $35 credit for your registration.

Fun Run Participants: Raise $100 and you will receive a $10 credit for your registration.

*you will be prompted in the sign up to set up your fundraising page that can be shared on all social media platforms. If you want a physical pledge sheet, one can be provided for you.

5K Adult: $35 (includes commemorative T-shirt and general admission to Family Fun Day)

Fun Run (for 13 & Under ONLY): $10 (includes commemorative T-shirt and general admission to Family Fun Day)

General Admission: $10 (t-shirt and participation in the 5K and Fun Run are NOT included)

 

Awards will be given to the overall top 3 male and female finishers and top 3 male and female 13 & under finishers.  

We believe that everyone has a role to play in caring for these children and families and are passionate about connecting businesses, individuals, and groups in the community to the foster families in need of their support. At our annual Foster the Family 5K Fundraiser and Fun Run on May 4th, we are excited to be able to connect with local foster and adoptive families and the community at large for a day of fun, while also raising support to continue the work that we are doing. Foster and adoptive families coming together with each other, making memories as a family unit with other families like their own, is a truly special opportunity! Along with a fun-filled day of food, a children's fun run, and special activities, this event provides YOU with the opportunity to partner with us in our mission, providing joy to children in foster care and offering a welcoming community to foster families.
