The Fool's Run 10K & 5K will take place on Saturday, April 6, 2024 on the Ghost Town Trail at Saylor Park, Black Lick, Pennsylvania. This is the 45th Anniversary of the 10K, the first 10K have been conducted in 1979, It is thought to be the longest continuous 10K in Pennsylvania. A 5K was added in 2015 and has proven to be very popular.
Because 2024 is an anniversary year, we are planning to have anniversary-related happenings. At this time, we can tell you that Fool's Run cookies are back and there will be 2024 finishers' medals in addition to overall and age group awards. The Ghost Town Trail is a favorite among local runners and we know you will enjoy it. The 10K and 5K will be out-and-back on the trail with the finish near the pavilion at Saylor Park. Awards will be presented at the pavilion following the race to the top three male and female finishers, top male and female masters, and top three male and female age group winners in five-year groups up to 70+. Runners and walkers are welcome in both events and are eligible for awards as listed here. No separate walker awards.
Quality race shirts are guaranteed for those preregistered by March 27, 2024. Shirts available after that date and on race day as supplies last. Shirts courtesy of S & T Bank and Indiana Regional Medical Center.
Family registration is available for three or more runners or walkers from the same household. There are no road crossings in the 10K or the 5K, making it ideal for all family members.
Online registration will close at 11:59 PM on Wednesday, April 3rd. Race day registration will be available starting at 8:30 AM at Saylor Park.
Professional timing will be provided by David Mapes Timing Service of Somerset, Water will be provided on the course and at the finish.
For safety and insurance reasons: No baby strollers or dogs.
