Event details
On July 26, 2022, Eliza went to the local ER for an intense headache and vomiting, which she had been experiencing intermittently since January 2022. CT/MRI scans showed a 6x7 cm tumor in the left frontal lobe. Eliza was admitted to the ICU awaiting neurosurgery consult. A maximal safe resection was performed, and 95% of the tumor was removed on 7/28. Eliza has no neurological deficits! Pathology came back as a grade 4 astrocytoma due to 2 areas of concern in the original tumor, which were completely removed! The remaining tumor shows signs of a slower growing tumor. Eliza is receiving oral chemo and daily radiation for 6.5 weeks.
To honor Eliza, we are hosting a Fight Like A Hero - For Eliza WOD on December 10th at Iron Athletics - CrossFit Fe. All proceeds from the WOD will be donated to the Glioblastoma Foundation. Eliza recognizes her story is not like others'. By participating you will show Eliza support, raise money for treatment research, and promote awareness of Brain Cancer!

This policy applies to all registrants whether you are injured, have an unexpected family/business emergency, have a medical emergency, etc. If the course has to be altered or cancelled due to an act of nature, or the event time changed due to circumstances beyond our control, there are no refunds.
