Downtown Dash and Dine 5k
Downtown Dash and Dine 5K is a fundraiser to benefit The Magnolia House and Satilla Advocacy Services. The funds raised will be donated to both organizations. Hosted by Dancing with the Southern Stars Team 9 and in memory of Cindy Tanner.
Waycross Area Shelter Abused for Abused persons, Inc. d/b/a Magnolia House, a non-profit organization since 1984, serves five counties in rural South Georgia: Bacon, Brantley, Coffee, Pierce, and Ware. The mission of Magnolia House is to provide emergency safe shelter to victims of domestic violence in South Georgia. Magnolia House provides domestic violence victims an array of free core services for victims and their children.
Satilla Health Foundation, Inc. dba Satilla Advocacy Services (SAS) is a 501c3 non-profit organization formed in 1998, servicing six counties in the Waycross Judicial Circuit including Bacon, Brantley, Charlton, Coffee, Pierce, and Ware counties. SAS is a dual child advocacy and sexual assault center that provide services for child and adult victims of sexual assault and physical abuse. All services provided by SAS are free of charge.
Join us for a dash through Downtown Waycross. The 5K and one mile fun run will start and finish in front of 409 Alice Street. There will be food trucks set up after the races for participants and others to enjoy as well as a DJ. Several downtown businesses will be opening early specifically for the event.
5k Awards: First overall male and female finishers, First male and female masters 40 and up, First male and female overall finishers in age groups: 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 & up
Gift bags will be available to all preregistered racers, which will include a t-shirt.
