Event details

Dirt Running organise the popular Dirt Half Challenge, which will take place on Saturday 19th November 2022.

The race follows the canal towpath north to Stoke Hammond with stunning views, climbs through beautiful countryside to Great Brickhill then passes through the scenic Stockgrove Country Park before following the Greensand Ridge back to the start via the canal towpath.

HQ: Cedars Upper School, Mentmore Road, Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, LU7 2AE

Timing
This event will be chip timed.

Sorry, no late starters.

 

Race Time Limit
Time limit is 3:15 hours

 

Race Permit
TRA permit applied for. The race will be run under UKA rules

 

Car Parking
Free car parking is available at the school: Click here for directions. Parking is limited, so please car share where possible.

 

Baggage
Please leave your baggage in your vehicle. If you come by public transport then you will be able to leave a small bag at the Race HQ.

 

Changing
We recommend that you arrive in your running clothes. There are toilets, but you will need to pay entry to Tiddenfoot Leisure Centre next door to use their showering facilities.

 

Refreshments
There will be a kiosk in the school hall offers hot & cold refreshments from 8am. We also have a cake stall which will be open before and after the race so bring pocket money.

 

Water
There will be water in cups at approx mile 3, 7 and 10 miles and again at the finish.

 

Awards
All finishers will receive a Race Medal

Presentation of the race awards will take place after the race.

Award categories are: First 3 Men, plus MV40, MV50, MV60, MV70. First 3 Ladies, plus FV35, FV45, FV55, FV65.

Plus first team of 5 runners (can be mixed) from the same club.

Runners may win more than one award.

 

Number Transfers

We don’t offer a number transfer service for the Dirt Half Challenge. Places are non-refundable, can’t be transferred or deferred under any circumstances.

 

Spectators

Spectators are welcome, but are reminded to stand clear of the route at all times. There are a couple of nice pubs on the course offering a relaxed view of the runners.
