Dave Zacharias Memorial 5K

Join us for a full morning of fun starting with the 5K, followed by several high school Cross Country races!

Help us raise money for the Amanda Garcia Memorial Scholarship and our Thunder Cross Country team.

David Zacharias(RIP) was a running icon in the Merced/Atwater area.  A long time member and officer of the Merced Running Club, Dave called Merced his home.  Dave was a great supporter of anyone and anything related to running.  We, at Buhach Colony High School, would love it if you would join us for a fun-filled day of racing on Saturday, Sept. 2nd to honor the memory of Dave Zaharias.  Buhach Colony HS Cross Country will host the Dave Zacharias Memorial 5K on the campus of BCHS in Atwater.  Packet pick up and race day registration begins at 6:30am with the run/walk starting at 7:30am.  Medals go to the top 3 in each age group per gender.

That will be followed by 6 high school Cross Country races (one every 30 minutes) starting at 9am.  We invite you to stay and watch some of the best local distance runners compete for their schools and a shot at the top ten medals in each high school event.  We hope you will stick around and visit the local food vendor booths before you leave.  Bring your family.  Invite your friends.  We are a stroller-friendly event.
