Thank you for registering for the 3rd Annual Daily News Press Run on Saturday, May 10, 2025. We are excited to offer you and your family and friends a fantastic day full of activities. 

The Press Run will offer certified 5K and 10K courses in Texas City for those who prefer running, walking, or jogging. There will also be a 1K race for kids and a contest for the best book character costume. You can also enjoy dozens of vendor booths, live music including zydeco, Tejano, and country, and delicious food. It promises to be an unforgettable experience for the whole family. 

Parents, bring your kids along for a day full of fun and excitement at our Kid's Zone sponsored by the City of La Marque. Our safe and secure environment offers bouncy houses, arts and crafts, face painting, and other engaging activities. The stations are managed for small groups of kids, so you can be sure your little ones are in good hands. Join us and make a difference in your community!

Press Runs Support Newspapers in Education
The Daily News Press Runs provides support to the Newspapers in Education (NIE) program. NIE provides educational resources that use the newspaper to develop reading comprehension skills, critical thinking, and a better understanding of the way the world relates to the classroom. There is a waiting list of teachers each year who want to join. We need your help to make the program a success for the upcoming school year.

Bag Drop Off
Bag drop is available at the info station for a $5 donation to the Newspapers In Education (NIE) program.

Costume Contest
Dress up as your favorite book character as we celebrate Literacy Day with our Smart Family Literacy, Inc. Partners. The first, second, and third-place winners will win a special prize donated by local merchants. The contest is divided into two groups children and adults. A panel will judge the costumes.
