Does the Really Big Soccer Thing in November have you wanting to kick the ball around? Join AO Lexington at Meadowbrook Golf Course on October 22, 2022 for a friendly round of footgolf. Form a team with your local supporters' group or come solo!  

AO Lexington will have a limited number soccer balls available for use, but we recommend bringing yours if you have one.

What is footgolf anyway?

Footgolf is played using the basic model of golf with a tee box, a green, bunkers, hazards, a similar scorecard and 9 or 18 holes to play. The main differences are the cups, which are 21 inches in diameter, the ball (a #5 soccer ball), the shorter holes, and the fact that the players kick the ball instead of using clubs. The goal? To get the ball in the hole with the fewest strokes (kicks) as possible. 

On the course, players will be arranged into teams of four people. All teams will start at the same time, at different holes. 

Meadowbrook course rules:

• Players should wear indoor soccer shoes or tennis shoes. Cleats are not permitted.
• Proper attire is required (shorts/pants and shirts).
• Players may bring their own #5 soccer ball or rent one from the pro shop for $4.50.

Arbor Youth Services

Proceeds from the event will to to Arbor Youth Services, our 2022 non-profit partner. Arbor Youth Services is the only emergency shelter for unaccompanied children in Central Kentucky. They provide shelter for children as young as birth and as old as 24 and a safe and supportive environment to children who have suffered abuse, abandonment, or are at risk of victimization.
