12th and Final Al'a Run -  5K MEMORIAL RUN - October 16th:  Anne Communicty College

In 2011, Al Cantello Jr. left behind his family and friends after his untimely death in a boating accident.  That same year the friends of Al created the Al Cantello Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund (ACSF).

Over a 12 year period, ACSF has awarded over $100K in youth scholarships to Maryland youth. 

In 2018, the ACSF started fundraising to create two endowments in his namesake.  The ACSF is excited to announce that this year, on October 16th, we will be holding the final Al's Run. The ACSF is currently on track to complete endowment fundraising which will ensure the continuation of awards given to deserving students his memory.

Anne Arundel Community College generously donates the course location which features a picturesque setting with both indoor and outdoor facilities.  This event will be held rain or shine (barring extreme weather due to force of nature).

This professionally timed and mapped out course attracts participants of all ages from young school age to senior citizens.  It continues to be supported by the surrounding businesses, with generous sponsors like Heroes Pub of Annapolis. 

Come join the fun and sentimentality of a well established event which was orginally created for a person who excelled as a D1 athlete, a youth coach, and as a loving husband and father.   He had a passion fro all things related to the water including his own marine construction business, boating, fishing, and crabbing but also spent time participating in local road races.
