The race inspires HOPE for children living in poverty. Giving children a chance to learn is one of the most urgent priorities in Liberia. Liberia has an adult literacy rate that is less than 50% because generations of children have gone without adequate education. This illiteracy affects all areas of life, ultimately trapping children and families in a never-ending cycle of poverty.
