The proceeds from this race go directly to the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation (ECF). Check them out at www.emmanuelcancer.org. With a local office in Woodbury Heights, the organization has been providing free in-home emotional, material and financial support since 1983 for families in New Jersey facing pediatric cancer.

Hi, my name is Alan Conway and I have been a member of Road Runners Club of Woodbury (RRCW) for quite some time. On a personal note, I had a nephew Christopher who was diagnosed with leukemia at the young age of 7. He underwent treatment and was in remission for 4 years. Unfortunately, it came back and was just too much for his battered body- he went to be with his mom in heaven at the age of 11.

I’m sure many of you know of similar stories or know of someone who does. As long as childhood cancer is with us, the best we can do is to offer the families our support through this amazing organization.  

The services provided by ECF are invaluable when a family’s child is stricken by cancer. Won’t you please help today? Thank you and see you at the starting line!
