Our Concept -> What does “going the second mile” mean? Jesus said, "And whoever shall force you to go one mile, go with him two” (Matt. 5:41). Roman soldiers could force citizens of Israel or any foreigner to carry their backpacks for a mile. Often people would stake off 1 mile from their home for that reason. Everyone can do the required but strive to go the extra mile for Christ! In this case, run it!

 

The Extra Mile 5K is a non-profit 5K, hosted by Grace Baptist Church, partnered with Run the East, to benefit Fike, Hunt and Beddingfield High School Fellowship of Christian Athletes. What's better than a little High School competition? Besides Jesus of course (: This money helps their FCA programs with events throughout the year and the cost of FCA Leadership camp. This will be our 3rd year! All ages and abilities are invited to participate!

 

Fastest Time to Date: 17:29! (5:28 mile time)

 

$$$$ After completion of the 5K, runners are encouraged to hop on the Rotary Park Track and complete the EXTRA MILE (2 laps around the track). Grace Baptist Church will sponsor $20 per runner who completes the EXTRA MILE! We had a great turnout with this concept the past two years and can't wait for this year!

OTHER IMPORTANT DETAILS
·      Leave all personal belongings in your vehicle
·      Hydration will be provided at start/finish and throughout the race
·      Please place all trash in appropriate containers

AWARD CATEGORIES
1st 2nd 3rd Male/Female Placers receive a Special Placer Medal, along with their participation medal. 

Participation Medal Given to All Finishers.

GIVEAWAY
T-shirts will be picked up at packet pick up/race day with chipped bibs.
