Charity race for girls' education
in Kenya and Nepal

Held each October in Washington, DC, the Georgetown Half Marathon offers runners a fast, flat, and scenic course along the historic C&O Canal Towpath. Starting and finishing at Fletcher’s Cove, the route features a peaceful, crushed-stone path with just a few gentle hills, making it ideal for personal records and qualifying times.

This event is more than just a race—it's a chance to make a difference. Proceeds support nonprofit projects focused on education, clean water, and health care in underserved communities abroad, including initiatives in Kenya and Nepal.

Participants enjoy a well-organized experience with chip timing, custom finisher medals for the first 250 runners, and age-group awards. Packet pickup is available the day before the race at a local running store, and limited pickup is also available on race morning.

After crossing the finish line, runners are welcomed with refreshments, music, and an awards ceremony. A free bag check service and volunteer-supported aid stations along the course help ensure a smooth race day.
