2023 Chengdu Marathon Entry Information

 

1. EVENT INFO

1. A. Race will start on Sunday, October 29th, 2023 at 7:30 a.m. BJT.
2. B. Category: Marathon (42.195km), Half Marathon (21.0975km), Wheelchair Race (42.195km).
3. C. Number of Entries: 35,000 (including 500 Charity Entries)
4. D. Marathon: 25,000. Half-Marathon 10,000.
5. E. Start Area: Jinsha Site Museum (East gate)
6. F. Half Marathon finish area: Sichuang University Museum
7. G. Marathon finish area: Chengdu Century City International Exhibition Center

1. 3. REGISTRATION PROCESS
   1. A. Register on the official website → checkout → complete registration form → agree participation statement → draw result announcement
   2. B. Process for the registrants who are not selected after the draw result announced: refund 
   3. 4. REGISTRATION QUALIFICATION
      1. A. Age Requirement
      2. B. Marathon participants must be over 20 years old (Born before December 31st, 2003).
      3. C. Half marathon participants must be over 16 years old (Born before December 31st, 2007).
      4. D. Elite athletes: The Organizing committee invites domestic and foreign excellent professional players to participate in the competition as elite athletes.
      5. 5. REGISTRATION TIME
         1. A. Registration for the 2023 Chengdu Marathon will open on September 15, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. BJT., and will close on September 21, 2023 at 9:00 p.m. BJT. (All registrations except guaranteed race entry shall be selected by drawing when the total registration number has exceeded the maximum capacity. The drawing capacity of general registration will be based on its separate ratio).
         2. B. The results of the entry drawing will be announced on September 30, 2023 at 3:00 pm.
         3. C. Refund Time: within 7 business days after the draw result announced.
         4. 6. REGISTRATION FEE
            1. A. Marathon: RMB ¥500. Half marathon: RMB ¥500. 
            2. B. Charity Entry: RMB ¥1500. ( The full amount of the registration fee will be donated to the public welfare organization, and the flow of public welfare funds will be publicized to the community after the game.)
            3. C. The registration fee is non-refundable after successful registration, the quota is limited to the participant only, and is not allowed to be transferred.
            4. 7. PRIORITY REGISTRATION OUALIFICATION
               1. A. Those runners who are qualified as priority runners shall meet the requirements of the Rules of Participation and Notes of Registration of 2023 Chengdu Marathon, and they should register and pay within the required time. Those who do not register in time will forfeit their this place and and will not be renewed.
               2. B. The elite athletes invited by the organizing committee.
               3. C. Qualifying Standard

Registrants who meet the qualifying standards are eligible for guaranteed entry in 2023 Chengdu Marathon and are not officially entered into the race until their qualifying time is verified. List of qualified registrants will be announced on the official website at the beginning of October.

1. D. Charity Entry: The charity entry will only open for registrants who are not selected on drawing after the draw result announced. Once the registrants complete the payment process, the registration is guaranteed. 2023 Chengdu Marathon charity entry will be closed due to capacity limitation.

 

1. 8. PACKAGE PICK-UP
   1. A. Time：Thursday, October 26th, 2023 to Saturday, October 28th, 2023
   2. B. Location：Chengdu Century City International Exhibition Center
   3. C. More detailed information will be released separately through the official platform.

 

1. 9. NOTIFICATION

 

1. A. General Registration: Except for priority registration, if the number of applicants exceeds the event scales, the final participants will be determined by drawing lots, and the proportion of drawing for public participants will decrease according to category A, B and C.
   1. i. Type A: The registrant must participate in at least one Marathon Race from January 1, 2019 to April 30, 2023 (including January 1 and April 30) and finish the race within 6 hours.
   2. ii. Type B: The registrant must participate in at least one Half Marathon Race from January 1, 2019 to April 30, 2023 (including January 1 and April 30) and finish the race within 3 hours.
   3. iii. Type C: The registrant who meets the requirements set by the Organizing Committee can finish the whole race before cut-off time.

        * Notification: Online Marathon records are invalid.

 

1. B. Once the qualification is confirmed, race entry fee is non-refundable under any circumstance. Anyone is not allowed to transfer his/her registration or drawing results to another people.
2. C. Please complete your personal information correctly. The organizing committee shall confirm all participants’ information. The participant will be disqualified in 2021 Chengdu Marathon if there is any false information.
3. D. If the participants violate any rules and regulations set by the organizing committee, they shall be penalized as disqualification. Also, Chinese Athletic Association may announce additional penalties.
