SEASHORE STRIDER RACE PHILOSOPHY DURING COVID II

The Seashore Striders are rolling out their 2022 race events and continue to work with the Delaware Public Health on following the Covid Guidelines for the State of Delaware (currently no restrictions).  We are assuming that, and are hopeful, that these events will continue to be live events.  If any of the Seashore Strider events of 2022 are forced to drop the live option, we will continue offering the virtual event and will add the Seashore Strider Covid Safety Plan to this website and follow our Covid Plan.

 

RACE DESCRIPTION

• Join the Seashore Striders for this early spring event, the Shamrock Shuffle 10 miler and 5k, on the beautiful GORDON'S POND TRAIL of Cape Henlopen State Park.  Choose between the 3.1 mile 5k course or the longer 10 mile course- both "Live" events.  A great training long run for the Seashore Classic 1/2 Marathon in early May.  The start/finish area is located in the Lewes side of Cape Henlopen State Park at the main beach in the northeast corner of the parking lot.   See you on the Starting Line for the 16th annual!

RACE TIME:

• 9:00 am start. Limited RACE-DAY Registration due to DPH State of Delaware guidelines.  Recommended to pre-register.
• Both the 10 miler & 5k will start together on the out & back course.

 

RACE LOCATION: 

• Cape Henlopen State Park, Lewes Side, Main Beach Bathhouse...Follow Race Signs.

RACE COURSE:

• The 16th Shamrock Shuffle 5k/10m is a flat & fast course through Cape Henlopen State Park on the Gordon's Pond Trail of Rehoboth Beach, just north of the City limits in North Shores.   The course is out and back with the 5k turning around at 1.55m and the 10 mile run turning around at 5 miles.

 

SAFE RUNNING & RACING

The Seashore Striders encourage you to run & race safely during the Shamrock Shuffle 5k/10m and if you are competing "virtually", we discourage the gathering of runners for this event.   Please stay more than 6' from each other if running with someone.  https://www.runnersworld.com/news/a31439358/running-during-coronavirus/

 

RACE TIMING:

• Seashore Strider Event Production will chip time the event using the Chronotrack chip timing system.

 

RACE AMENITIES:

• Finish line produced by "Seashore Strider Event Production, Inc., Long sleeve Race shirts, beautiful course through Cape Henlopen State Park, custom awards.

AWARDS:

• Awards will be presented to the Overall Male & Female Champions, Overall Male & Female Masters (40+ yrs.), as well as the top three (3) Male & Female finishers in the following age categories:
  • 5k...9 & under, 10-13, 14-19, 20-29, then 10-year age groups through 70+.   Awards will be safely presented within 20 minutes following the final runner crossing the finish.
  • 10m...19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.    Awards will be safely presented within 20 minutes following the final runner crossing the finish.

 

REFUNDS/DEFERRAL  

The Seashore Striders have a "No Refund" policy, however we make every possible attempt to please our client with the following options:  1. Transfer to a future Seashore Strider owned event of equal value before the end of the current year.   2. Donate your entry fee to the charity associated with the event or to the Seashore Strider Youth Running program.  3. Transfer/Defer to the following year at the same event.  Thank You for your cooperation & understanding as some situations are beyond the control of the Seashore Striders as we do not own every event we produce.
