Guiding Light is proud to host our third annual 5k Run/Walk presented by Mercantile Bank. Guiding Light is a donor-funded Christian non-profit dedicated to helping men & women recover from addiction and the associated chaos of a life consumed by substance abuse. All race proceeds support Guiding Light programming.
Event Information: Our race course will take you on a 3.1 mile loop in and around Millennium Park beginning and ending at the Grant Pavilion where awards will be presented after the race. This is a timed event! Whether this is your first 5K or your 100th, we will have your finish time upon crossing the finish line!
RACE START TIME 9AM
Packet Pick-Up: Packet pick-up will begin the morning of the event at 7:30am under the Grant Pavilion at Millennium Park.
Family, Friends, and Dogs: We hope that you bring your family and friends to show support and enjoy themselves. Snacks and water will be provided. If your four legged friends want to check out what we are doing please bring them along! Just remember that dogs must be on a leash the entire time of the event. Runners/Walkers with dogs will also start the race after participants without dogs. Please be prepared to clean up after your dog.
Race Day Swag: Each runner/walker will receive a swag bag and a Guiding Light Strides 5k Run/Walk t-shirt. In order to guarantee a shirt in the size requested please register by October 1st.

Join us Saturday, September 21st at Blandford Nature Center for the West Side Donut Dash 5k. There will also be a Kids Fun Run starting at 9:00 AM and the 5K starting at 9:30. Show Some West Side Pride. From Beer City to Downtown, The West Side is Grand Rapids best side.
Run like the world is watching! Cap off the 2023 One in Five Series with a worldwide event that makes a difference for mental health across the globe: the World Mental Health Day Virtual 5K/10K. We’re ending the stigma, we’re taking action, and we’re letting people from all over the world know that mental health matters. It all starts with you, right where you are, running or walking a 5K or 10K for mental health.
World Mental Health Day is Monday, October 10 – but you can log your run/walk anytime between October 1-10. Your registration comes with a shirt, a medal, and the chance to make a difference on a global scale.
